The MixCity G’S Bistro and brunch is setback in a nice walking area adjacent to the MixC C Building. It features a large outdoor patio area with plenty of seating to help you enjoy the spring breeze- day or night. The interior styling is similar to previous G’S locations, with a modern but rustic exposed brick vibe. A generously sized bar area and an abundance of seating, both indoors and outdoors, ensure that waiting for a table is rarely an issue, even during peak hours.

Alfresco brunch and dinner

We wanted to branch out and try some menu items that we hadn’t had before. For starters we shared the smoked salmon and smashed avocado tapas (54 RMB). This salmon and avocado was a nice refreshing combo and the sourdough toast was surprisingly tasty. After that we went for the spicy beef quesadilla (58 RMB) which featured a nice smoky cheese sauce.

Even though it was dinner time we had to get into the brunch mode and went for a Spanish omelet with beef (58 RMB). This is a good classic omelet, sure to satisfy your egg cravings no matter the time of day. Next up was the grilled Argentina chicken (98 RMB) – a grilled chicken with veggies, a mushroom sauce, and roasted baby potatoes

Lastly, we had to try a pizza and went with the smoked boneless ham and mushroom pizza (98 RMB). The crust was light and fluffy making this one of the better pizzas in town these days. To round things out, it happened to be International Waffle Day so we had to go for a Belgian waffle with berries and whipped cream. It would be a good choice any day of the year.

Apart from the better-than-your-average-fast-food Burgers, Shakes, Flat-Top Dogs and a very tasty veggie ‘Shroom Burger, they have tried to give the Chengdu menu a little Sichuan flavour – with local brewery Wild West providing craft beers. Try the China White, it’s got a subtle lick of Sichuan Pepper, it’s delicious.

The Chengdu store’s local specials are a panda themed shake “BE PANDASTIC!” and well as two types of ice cream, “Give Me the Tea” and “Feeling So BASHI”…

The ‘Shroom burger is definitely one of, if not the best veggie burger in the city, and the Barbecue Burger packs a nice bit of heat. There’s only so many burgers 2 people can eat in one sitting, but we’ll be back for the Dark Meat Chicken Burger, and a shake.

The Chengdu Natural History Museum covers a total construction area of 50,520 square metres. Of that, around 17,000 square metres are dedicated to exhibitions. With the theme “Knowing the Earth as Our Home, Exploring the Mysteries of Nature”, the museum features six permanent exhibition halls and two temporary ones.

Notably, it houses world-famous exhibits with significant scientific value. These include the fossil of Mamenchisaurus, the fossil of Chungkingichthys tachuensis, and meteorite remnants discovered in Longchang City, southern Sichuan.

Moreover, the museum covers a wide range of topics. These include geological processes, natural disasters, and disaster prevention. It also explores mineral resources, their protection and use, the origin and evolution of life, and biodiversity.

Currently, the museum holds nearly 70,000 items in its collection. Around 10,000 of these are on public display, offering a rich and educational experience for all visitors.

The birth of underground music in Chengdu is widely attributed to Little Bar – which cracked open the scene almost 25 years ago.
