Attractions

Jiuding Mountain is located between Hongbai Town in Shifang City, Shigu Township and Nanxin Town in Mao County. Bordering Qingping, Mianzhu City, it is in the middle of Minshan Mountain and Longmen Mountain Range, which is 120 kilometers away from Chengdu. It is named Jiuding Mountain because the nine peaks (Jiuding) are connected. The highest peak of Jiuding Mountain is Lion King Peak, with an altitude of 4989 meters.

Yunling Pasture is located at the southern foot of Jiuding Mountain. It is a perfect summer resort with dense forests and in winter it turns into a beautiful snow world. The new snow is like soft goose feather, flying slowly in the sky. The whole world is like putting on a white coat just overnight. The heaven and earth are connected with blurring boundaries, leaving only a series of footprints.

This route is a return route with a total hiking distance of about 5 kilometers and the estimated time to finish the hike is around 5.5 hours with 3.5 hours’ hike and another 2 hours playing with snow. You will go on a relatively rough hike with a variety of road types such as mud road, pasture path and bushes. There are several points along the way where you’ll need the level of fitness required to get over some steep slopes. The hike is not difficult, however, ice and snow roads are not easy to walk on, thus please make sure you have crampons for this trip.

Itinerary
07:20 Meet at Exit C, Metro Line 2, Baiguolin and the bus will leave at 07:30 on dot.
07:30-10:30 With our pulses racing, we are loaded into a chartered van for a drive down to Jiuding Mountain in Mao County and get ready to hike.
Note: Due to temporary traffic control/ government control/ vehicle restriction, you may be required to take an intermediate transfer at your own expense or walk a short distance to the starting point of the hike.
10:30-12:00 After a proper warm-up, we’ll hike along the pasture path and forest dirt trail all the way up.
12:00-12:30 择地午餐，自备路餐

Lunchtime! We’ll have lunch together and please prepare your own packed lunchbox.

12:30-14:30 午餐之后，我们将继续上行约半小时左右抵达云岭牧场，你将有时间在雪地里尽情撒欢

After lunch, we’ll continue the hike for another half an hour to reach the pasture where you will be given some time to have snow fun and take nice photos.
14:30-16:30 Follow the same way to get back to the mountain foot.
16:30-19:30 Get back to Chengdu.
