As a non-profit institution, from its opening in 2009, Blue Roof Museum of Chengdu has been committed to promote the development of the contemporary art in China. With the mission to increase the contemporary art appreciation in terms of public’s cultural knowledge, aesthetic understanding in an evolving economic framework. Blue Roof amasses collections that encompass paintings, installations and multimedia art works by talented artists both in China and abroad.
The Blue Roof facilities are situated in wonder lotus pond waterfront. adjacent to 3600 acres egret wetland, The following sites contain the outstanding capacity up 2000 square metre as the key link, develop a diversified shows and ensure an all-round development.

A Gateway to the World of Art. Blue Roof Museum of Chengdu is dedicated to research and presentation of contemporary art and related cultural ideas, public and interdisciplinary artistic practices. By consciously integrating the research, exhibition, exchange and education of arts with the Southwest Chinese segment community and cultivating the emerging collectors. which are primarily thematic and investigatory group and solo shows. Through experiments which emphasise curatorial concepts and indigenous talents.
The museum not only cooperates with renowned artists and curators to ensure the quality of exhibitions but also serves as a display and promotion platform for emerging and young artists. While fulfill the responsibility of preserving, interpreting and promoting culture, Blue Roof also seeks to expand and enhance academic exchanges in an international scale. As a public art space, the museum is dedicated in interacting with its community. By organizing public art education programs and activities of all kinds, Blue Roof hopes to supplement the art education system in school and enrich the leisure time of the public.
