You are invited to this Sunday evening session of post-punk inflected noise and experimentation at Jah Bar, featuring France-based duo CIA Debutante, with support from Kaishandao and 明暗MING.
About the Artists
***CIA DEBUTANTE (FR/AUS)
CIA Debutante is the duo of Nathan Roche and Paul Bonnet. Formed in 2016, they have released three LPs on the Philadelphia based label Siltbreeze (The Dead C, The Shadow Ring, Harry Pussy,…) as well as a slew of EPs and cassettes on labels such as ever/never, SDZ and Zoomin’ Night.
Initially finding their footing in the paranoia infused sound of late 70’s post punk, they have developed a vocabulary of their own, weaving together strands of modernist sound art experiments, free guitar improvisation, minimal synth pop sensibilities, and rock’n’roll masquerade. They have performed and toured with like minded acts such as The Rebel, Exek, Ian Svenonius and Ensemble Economique.
***KAISHANDAO (CN/NZ)
Kaishandao is a Chengdu-based musician from Aotearoa New Zealand. Her sound is a blend of lo-fi house, post-punk, IDM, electronica, and techno influences. Armed with a drum machine, sampler, electric guitar and cassette player, she has performed at various events and festivals across China and New Zealand such as Chun You, Camp A Low Hum and Twisted Frequency. Music for lonely hearts with a bit of humour.

明喑MING is a multi-instrumentalist performer who specialises in stringed instruments. For this performance, he will use an electric guitar to take us on a noisy voyage of sound.
