Chengdu Comedy Club is carrying its most exciting project yet, a comedy festival! Three nights of back-to-back comedy! Each night is a completely different show, with different material and headliners each night. Best of all, all proceeds are going to charity, so let’s use laughter to do something good!
The line-up:
Thursday May 18th Headliners:
Michael Hampton – has been a joke since the day he was born. He has been telling jokes for 7 years and performed in the US and in China. Likes a good story and telling jokes about messed up childhoods and the flaming garbage truck that is his life. Talking about love, work, sex (or lack there of) this guy is a riot once he has about 12drinks… which is most of the time. “I also opened for a puppet named Timmy once”, he told us.
Professor Dave – is a fixture in the comedy scenes of Chengdu, Chongqing, and Manila, Philippines, and winner of Beijing’s “Best Show of 2022.” He can also teach you some English, but only if you’re really nice to him.
Friday May 19th Headliner:
Rob Bryan – has been a part of building Chengdu’s comedy scene up from the ground up since 2012, when he became the first English-speaking comic to perform in the city. He has hosted and performed on hundreds of shows and acted as MC and opener for many years for headline international acts on tour in China. He has performed at the Hong Kong Comedy festival, headlined in multiple cities, and opened for Des Bishop, Will Sylvince, Glenn Wool, Kurt Metzger, Brad Williams, Mark Normand and many more!
Saturday May 20th Headliner:
Cory Goldblatt – has been doing stand-up for 3 years. Inspired by the legends of the 20th century like Rodney Dangerfield, Don Rickles and Joan Rivers, Cory decided to get on stage and follow in their footsteps of making jokes that are considered politically incorrect by American standards in 2023.

Hopeful Hearts cooperates with local hospitals, specialised in cardiac surgery for children. Through fundraising events and donations, they support the children’s heart surgeries.
Chengdu Comedy Club have set ourselves a target of raising 20,000RMB through the comedy festival through ticket sales, sponsorship and donations, this number is the amount it costs for a live saving operation for a child.
