In the city of Verona, two powerful families — the Montagues and the Capulets — are locked in a longstanding feud born of hatred. However, a masquerade ball changes everything. At the ball, Roméo and Juliet fall passionately in love at first sight. With the help of Friar Laurence, they marry in secret. But misfortune never comes alone. In a duel, Roméo kills Juliet’s cousin and is banished from Verona, leaving Juliet to face pressure from her family to marry Count Paris. For the sake of their love, Juliet follows friar’s advice to take a potion that will make her appear dead, planning to reunite with Roméo — but miscommunication leads Roméo to believe she truly is dead.
