Burano Grande, Italian Restaurant
You might know Burano from their original Italian restaurant concepts, in meanwhile almost 50 scattered around China over the last 10 years. The proudly local Chengdu brand was creation after a holiday vacation to Italy by the founder in 2013.
Burano Grande is the brand’s first ‘flagship store’ – more sophisticated in terms of environment, food, service and more. Located in SKP Chengdu, the 300+ sq/m location is designed by a Dutch architect and brings some new vibes to SKP’s Gourmet Street – with Wasabiya and It’s Thai nexdoors, though for the rest majorly consisting of upper prices Chinese restaurants. The interior and atmosphere are sleek, the food and presentation makes us think about that other big Italian brand in China – Alimentari.
Burano Grande’s atmosphere is comparable to a casual Italian restaurant/ sleek Italian wine bar. The menu is simplicity personified: instead of hard-to-pronounce ingredients with something to prove, you’ll instead find pastas like spaghetti with garlic, chilies and parmesan, or frutti di mare garnished with roasted lemon. The fresh pasta gets handmade at their pasta station on the spot. Did we mention that they also serve brunch? We must say that it is value for money, considering the location, decoration, service and food quality. Their Meituan sets make it definitely worth while. They can cater bigger groups, even got a 10 to 12 ‘Party Package’ set Metituan deal.
Recommended Dishes: Hand made pasta (try the burrata one), Beef chunks in tomato sauce with pasta.
Recommended drink: Fruit tea with strawberries.
Prices: Main dishes 75-98RMB, desserts 18-35RMB.
