Mao La Huo La (ChuanChuan) 冒椒火辣
The queues here can intimidate, at peak times reaching up to two hours, but it’s one of the best versions of the chuanchuan craze that has taken over Chengdu. Choose your own bamboo skewers laden with marinated meat, vegetables and innards from the fridge, hand them to the staff who cook it for you in a vat of flavorful, spicy broth, and pay by weight of skewers consumed.
