As a well-established name in the lantern fair scene, the predecessor of the Chengdu International Panda Lantern Fair was the “Chengdu Lantern Fair,” founded in 1962, carrying the beautiful memories of several generations. The theme of this lantern fair is “Season of a Myriad Lights, New Year Flavor in Chengdu.”
The lantern fair is organized into six major lantern groups with funky names like “Bashu Year Rhyme,” “Classic Heritage,” “Joyful Childhood,” “Fantasy Garden,” “Time Travel,” and “Fireworks Market.” Over 40 large and extra-large lantern groups, more than 100 atmosphere lantern groups, and over 20,000 various lanterns are meticulously designed and produced, showcasing the enchanting charm of the “Chengdu lantern fair” with dedication.
