What is The French Divide ?
It all started from a conversation between two friends, Samuel and Lionel. They wanted to organize a small bike trip with friends to challenge themselves: the crossing of France on gravel roads.
French Divide it’s an ultra MTB bikepacking adventure, that links the Franco-Belgian border to the Franco-Spanish border. A road-trip that tests the limits between the cyclo-cross and the mountain bike, using the GR of Santiago de Compostela, in of course total autonomy.
2275 Km, 32000m D+, 82% gravel, 18% road

After 2 times entering in the TCR, he was looking for a new challenge. TransAM and Great Divide are major events in the world of bikepacking but there was no long-distance equivalent in France. The idea was launched.
