Luxelakes·A4 Art Museum is a leading non-profit contemporary art institution in Chengdu, Sichuan, founded in 2008 and formally registered as a private non-profit organization in 2016. Led by founding director Sunny Sun, it has evolved into a cultural cluster with four specialized entities since 2023: A4 Art Museum, A4 Kids (children’s art platform), A4 Residency Art Center, and A4X Art Center.
Housed in architecturally distinctive spaces—including a venue designed by Antoine Predock in Luxelakes Eco-City and a renovated building in Luxetown —it focuses on bridging international art dialogue with local cultural exploration. The museum has hosted over 80 exhibitions featuring nearly 500 global artists, from iconic figures like Marc Chagall to emerging local talents, while its flagship iSTART Children’s Art Festival has earned national acclaim for innovative public education.
Committed to “connecting people through art and activating creativity,” it offers 500+ annual public programs (workshops, lectures, residencies) and engages over 500,000 visitors, fostering a vibrant community of creators and art enthusiasts. It stands as a key force shaping southwestern China’s art ecosystem and a globally recognized hub for inclusive, participatory art experiences.
