G’S Bistro and Brunch – MixC
The MixCity G’S Bistro and brunch is setback in a nice walking area adjacent to the MixC C Building. It features a large outdoor patio area with plenty of seating to help you enjoy the spring breeze- day or night. The interior styling is similar to previous G’S locations, with a modern but rustic exposed brick vibe. A generously sized bar area and an abundance of seating, both indoors and outdoors, ensure that waiting for a table is rarely an issue, even during peak hours.

Alfresco brunch and dinner
We wanted to branch out and try some menu items that we hadn’t had before. For starters we shared the smoked salmon and smashed avocado tapas (54 RMB). This salmon and avocado was a nice refreshing combo and the sourdough toast was surprisingly tasty. After that we went for the spicy beef quesadilla (58 RMB) which featured a nice smoky cheese sauce.
Even though it was dinner time we had to get into the brunch mode and went for a Spanish omelet with beef (58 RMB). This is a good classic omelet, sure to satisfy your egg cravings no matter the time of day. Next up was the grilled Argentina chicken (98 RMB) – a grilled chicken with veggies, a mushroom sauce, and roasted baby potatoes
Lastly, we had to try a pizza and went with the smoked boneless ham and mushroom pizza (98 RMB). The crust was light and fluffy making this one of the better pizzas in town these days. To round things out, it happened to be International Waffle Day so we had to go for a Belgian waffle with berries and whipped cream. It would be a good choice any day of the year.

We had lunch at this place near the MixC shopping mall. We really liked the variety of dishes, which combined both local and European cuisine. We especially appreciated that the dish itself wasn’t spicy, but was served with a spicy sauce on the side, allowing us to adjust the level of spiciness to our taste. The waiter spoke excellent English and was easy to understand, which is not so typical for Chengdu! If we visit Chengdu again, we’ll definitely try to come back.
