Hailing from Dallas, musician Johnny Stimson possesses all the talents an artist should have: he is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Drawing musical inspiration from The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Sam Cooke, and Justin Timberlake, he fuses elements of retro funk, contemporary pop, and soul music, while also incorporating the keen insight of independent music. His musical style is all-encompassing, ranging from “elegant and affectionate” to “sexy dancefloor”, creating a unique song aesthetic.
In 2015, Johnny Stimson made a splash with his advertising song “Holding On”. As an independent musician, he broke records on Shazam and burst into the top 40 of the iTunes chart. His single “So. Good.” released around the same time claimed the top spot on Spotify’s trending charts in ten countries, and he later went on to top Hype Machine’s pop chart four consecutive times with four different singles.
