As the first women’s film festival officially approved by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, the weeklong event will showcase the works of 20 outstanding women’s movies in six themed units.

Oscar-winning 20th Century Women, winner of the Golden Globe Hidden Figures, Julieta based on stories by Nobel Laureate in LiteratureAlice Munro, winner of Berlin International Film Festival’s Golden Bear Things to Come(L’Avenir), winner of Berlin Film Festival’s official queer award “Teddy Award” Close Knit(Karera ga Honki de Amu Toki wa) and another Golden Bear-winner The Party.
Films produced by China’s fourth generation female directors include Sacrifice of Youth by Zhang Nuanxin, Women-Demon-Human by Huang Shuqin and Re Lian by Lu Xiaoya.
In the Classics segment, the three films are Goddess and New Women featuring Ruan Lingyu, as well as British film Orlando from the end of the 1990s.
