The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China Southwest China Chapter cordially invites you to the seminar of SMEs in China: Practical Suggestions on How to Engage with the Government on 27thApril, 2021(Tuesday) in Chengdu.
In order to be competitive and strive in the Chinese business marketplace, continuous dialogue with government departments is of great importance to the success of any multi-national company, European SMEs as well as any company’s corporate citizenship in the local area.
This seminar will provide insights on how European SMEs can engage with Chinese government departments as a controller, supporter, and partner. It will also share practices and experiences on how to obtain government incentives based on both client & hands-on working experience respectively.

Cancellation Policy
If you cannot attend an event for which you have registered, please cancel your registration no later than one business day prior to the event. If you fail to notify us of your cancellation in a timely fashion, you will be charged for event costs.

Advisory Council Policy
Members of the Advisory Council may receive complimentary admission to Chamber seminars, conferences and factory visits up to two attendees per event. Additional participants will be charged at the member rate.
Advisory Council members will still be charged the standard member rate for participation in training courses and special events, such as gala balls, government appreciation dinners, or admission to corporate social events/tournaments.

Speakers
Mr. Matteo Zhi
Mr. Matteo Zhi is graduated from Nanjing University Law School for his bachelor’s degree in law and then respectively graduated from Rome Tre University and Shanghai Jiaotong University for his master’s degrees. Mr. Zhi advises European and Chinese clients on various legal matters and business transactions in China and cross-border. Special focus areas in foreign direct investment, mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring, IPO and refinancing, commercial, real estate, construction as well as dispute resolution. He is fluent reading, writing, speaking in Chinese, Italian and English. Passed the Chinese Bar Exam and admitted to Shanghai Bar Association.
Mr. Zhi’s has extensive experience either as public officer and as a qualified attorney at law. He has served for 2 years in Shanghai Administration of Industry of Commerce for 2 years and then founded D’Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel together with Mr. Carlo D’Andrea in 2013.
Mr. Zhi has been awarded as Top 10 Young Lawyer in Yangpu District, Shanghai and obtained the qualification of “Specialized lawyer in foreign related field” from Shanghai Bar Association.
Mr. Shane Farrelly
Shane Farrelly, Legal Advisor of D’ Andrea & Partners, Chongqing Branch, a company of DP Group. In this role he is responsible for the development of foreign invested businesses in the Chongqing/Chengdu area in collaboration with D’Andrea & Partners’ offices globally, ranging from China, Italy, India and Vietnam.
A diverse educational background which ranges from Corporate Law to International Marketing Principles, from Universities such as National University of Ireland, Galway and Yonsei University, Korea. Mr. Farrelly has also obtained experience in the Criminal Defence arena in his native Ireland and has also been a regular contributor to well established international legal journals in relation to legal issues affecting both the Chinese and European markets.
Mr. Farrelly speaks English, Mandarin Chinese and Gaelic.
Ms. Ester Cañada Amela
Ester Cañada Amela manages the Advocacy Platform at the EU SME Centre, an EU-funded project implemented by the European Chamber and four other partners. As a part of this work, she manages the Chamber’s Standards and Conformity Assessment Working Group, coordinates relations with European institutional stakeholders, and monitors and analyses relevant EU policies.
Ester holds a double masters’degree in European and Asian Affairs from Sciences Po Paris and Fudan University, as well as a BA in Translation from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
