Aug. 7-17: The World Games 2025 Chengdu
The 12th World Games (TWG 2025 Chengdu) is set to be a spectacular event in Chengdu from August 7-17, 2025. As the 12th edition of this global multi – sport gathering, it follows a tradition of highlighting sports that aren’t part of the Olympics.

Main Venue: Dong’an Lake Sports Park 东安湖体育公园
The Games will be hosted across eight competition clusters in Chengdu, utilizing a total of 28 state – of – the – art venues. These include existing facilities and some temporary structures, minimizing environmental impact and costs. Notably, eight of the venues were previously used for the FISU World University Games in 2023. The venues are well – distributed, and even during peak traffic, the maximum travel time between any venue, the athletes’ villages, and official hotels is 60 minutes, thanks to an efficient transportation network.
Venues – The World Games 2025 Chengdu
Athletes from around 100 countries, approximately 4000 in total, will compete in 35 sports, 61 disciplines, and 254 medal events. The sports lineup is incredibly diverse. For example, the flying disc event, making a mark in the Games, has a disc golf competition at Guixi Park in the Chengdu High – tech Zone. It’s a fascinating sport where players aim to throw the disc into a target in as few throws as possible, similar to golf but with a unique flying disc twist.
Sports – The World Games 2025 Chengdu
Another interesting sport is the floorball, which is a fast – paced indoor game, a bit like hockey but played with a stick and a light ball on a hard surface. Cheerleading, full of energy and vibrant choreography, will also be part of the Games, adding to the exciting atmosphere.
