Zodiac Legacy: The Horse Reigns Art Exhibition
A culturally significant art exhibition by Chengdu-based Canadian Artist Matt Vegh, along with Yi Nan, Michael Vegh and Fang Yi Ning, featuring their amazing works infused with the themes of the Chinese Zodiac, the Jinsha Ruins, and San Xing Dui, with the Jinsha Museum as official Supporting Unit.
The exhibition draws inspiration from Chengdu’s Jinsha and Sanxingdui sites, with select pieces incorporating the Golden Sunbird motif from the Jinsha Site Museum, highlighting the city’s ancient heritage through a modern lens.
Live painting sessions will take place daily from 2:00–4:00 PM, offering visitors an interactive look at the creative process. Art, tradition and the Chinese New Year come together in the heart of Chengdu.

Just spent the coziest afternoon at Zodiac Legacy: The Horse Reigns Art Exhibition and I’m totally blown away! Seeing the Golden Sunbird and Sanxingdui vibes reimagined through modern art is such a cool twist—ancient Chengdu heritage meets fresh creativity, and it works so well. The live painting session from 2 to 4 PM was the cherry on top; watching the artists create right in front of us felt so intimate and special. Shoutout to Matt Vegh and the whole team for this amazing, free gem in Chengdu—if you’re around, you have to check it out! 🐎🎨
