Profile
Jinli Street
Jinli Ancient Street (锦里古街) is one of Chengdu’s most popular cultural streets. It’s located right next to the famous Wuhou Shrine in the Wuhou District. Long ago, it was part of the city’s old marketplace. Today, it has been carefully restored to look like it did during the Qing Dynasty, with beautiful old-style buildings.
As you walk through the narrow lanes, you’ll find plenty to explore. There are tasty local snacks, handmade crafts, silk products, and even live folk performances like shadow puppetry and Sichuan opera face-changing.
In the evening, the street becomes even more lively. Red lanterns light the way, and tea houses and street musicians create a warm, festive vibe. Just nearby is Chengdu’s small Tibetan area, where you’ll see shops selling prayer flags, incense, and other traditional items. This adds even more variety and culture to your visit.
Whether you want to shop, try new food, or just enjoy the atmosphere, Jinli Street is a must-see spot to experience the heart of Chengdu’s heritage.
