Sichuan Provincial Library 四川省图书馆
Located at the west of Tianfu Square, the library was founded in 1912 and covers a floor area of 52,000 square meters and holds more than 7.5 million volumes, including 650,000 ancient books, 220,000 documents in the Republic of China, and 150 TB of digital resources.The library houses 31 reading rooms, capable of accommodating 6,000 readers. Opening hours: 9am-8:30pm.

How to apply for a Library Card
Foreigners apply for a library card at the general service desk of Sichuan Provincial Library with valid ID, such as a passport. In case of loss, the card holder needs to go to the general service desk to report the loss. It is free to apply for a library card for the first time, and 5.00RMB for a replacement card.
How to borrow a book
Borrowing books with your library card is processed on the 2nd floor, and from there you can take the books home. One can borrow 5 books at one time for 30 days, if you are overdue, you can apply for renewal. No deposit is required for borrowing books.
If you just want to read books in the library, you can go to the Reading Area without a card. two books can be taken at one time from the shelves. When you finish reading, please put the books on the returning book cart.
