Last year saw Zoe Bakery open in the Tongzilin Area. The team here put a focus on using well sourced, sustainable, organic ingredients where possible. The chef was trained in France and this is reflected in the style of the pasties, the profiteroles were piled high with cream and the croissants freshly made in house.
They make a range of breads , on different days such as sourdough, whole wheat, and white bread. They also make a range of cakes and pastries with Shangrila Farms Preserves.
The shop now has a small counter – for if you want to eat in – and a few shelves with a selection of organic products such as jams, seasonings, nuts, gluten free baking powder, agar-agar and maple syrup. Most products are breakfast related or baking goods. The staff can all speak English and answer questions about products. They are getting a WeChat and Taobao store set up so that groceries and baked goods can be ordered for delivery. Pastries are 10-20RMB, bread is 25 or more depending on the style and size of loaf.
