• At 03:50 on June 21, a ‘sinkhole’ appeared in China Railway Bureau’s construction of Chengdu Metro Line 13, just outside the construction pit of Xiaonanjie station. Two water pipes buried underground burst, resulting in the collapse of the road surface that was about 12 meters long near 119 Jinli West Road, according to the city’s subway authority.
• After the hole appeared, the water mains were shut down, the affected road closed, and no injuries were reported at the scene. Residents from nearby buildings have been evacuated until the area is declared safe for now. The incident did not have a direct impact on the construction and operation of rail transportation.
