The Jinsha Sun Festival Launches in Chengdu over Spring Festival:
The 2017 Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival 成都金沙太阳节 is to begin on the 23rd January at the Jinsha Museum and run until 12th February. The exhibit will feature over 40 groups of large lanterns and some ‘super lanterns’, which are over 15 meters high. There are also 3000 decorated trees, spread over a large area that’ll be sure to delight all those visiting.
This year the festival is themed around Ancient Egypt and will feature camel shapes lanterns and flowers forming a pyramid. There will also be Egyptian performances and food on offer.
Date: January 23 – February 12
Time: Daily 8am – 10pm. Egypt exhibition during daytime. Lantern Festival only worth is during nighttime.
Ticket: 40RMB.
