• A member of the international community in Chengdu named Lav (you might know him for playing in the band Brown Ketchup) has fallen seriously ill – and now needs life saving treatment.
• On September 5th, he suffered a stroke, was sent to the hospital and diagnosed with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage. After emergency surgery, he is still in ICU.
• Your help sharing, would be very much appreciated.
Help Lav
Lav (Lavern) is from the Philippines and been in Chengdu for over 3 years. Over 40,000RMB has been spent at the time of publishing, and the hospital has estimated a further 60,000RMB is needed for his surgery and recovery. It’s clear that he won’t be able to work anytime soon. As he doesn’t have any family in Chengdu, we hope you can help support him during this time with donations and forwarding the story and photos. All hospital bills and financial documentation will be posted for transparency.

Fundraiser Event (13th September)
On the evening Wednesday 13th September, Lav’s dear friend and also Brown Ketchup’s band mate Bernie and his friends will perform in GILI’S TXT. They will sing the songs that Lav loves, and the restaurant would like to contribute 30% of that night’s revenue for Lavern’s medical expense.
