About Rachel:
Rachel Wethers is a soul food cook that believes food is more than something that nourishes us. It binds us to our history, the people we’ve met and the places we’ve visited. She has been in Chengdu for five years now and organizes potlucks, food contests and kitchen taken overs all with the purpose of bringing people together. She specializes in Louisiana Creole soul food cooking she learnt from her parents, but loves all cuisine – previously running Indian, Italian, Vegetarian and Vegan takeovers. As long as your plate is piled high, with her delicious food made with love, and there’s a bottle of tequila out back – Mama Rachel is happy.
