September 26: WIBS: Profits and Pitfalls Panel - Business in China

The Chengdu Women in Business Network are really excited to announce volume 2 of 2019’s Balance for Better event series; this time focussing on the threats and opportunities of doing business in China. Through personal experience and the experience of the WIBS community, we know these insights are greatly needed and will provide valuable takeaways to the wider Chengdu Community.

We will hold a panel discussion with respected industry experts who will share their China business stories and highlight pitfalls in business, and opportunities that can propel your projects to success in China’s entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Event Aims 

1. Make people aware of the common occurrences in China that can be dangerous to the success of your projects (Examples: Legislation, HR, Chinese business cultures, failure to localize etc)
2. Highlight opportunities that the Chinese business environment presents that people may have overlooked or may not the most of. (Examples: Failing to make the most of local partnerships, government support, local tech infrastructure).
3. Highlight the differences that women may experience here when running their own projects in China compared to men.
4. Asses if these profits and pitfalls are changing and give the audience a comprehensive understanding of the pace of change and pivots in China’s economy.
5. Provide the tools and resources shared by the panel on succeeding in Chinese business environment.
6. Connect the Chengdu community with valuable mentors in China’s international business ecosystem
