“A Tale of Two Cities” at the Chengdu Contemporary Image Museum proves you don’t need street photography by old French legends or sweeping portraits of distant lands by Brazilian masters to capture the imagination of the public. After all, who needs them when you have so much local talent to choose from?
By inviting 12 Chengdu and Chongqing artists to participate in this exhibition, the works within “A Tale of Two Cities” hit closer to home than any of the settings or subject material found elsewhere within the museum, past or present. In fact, it could very well be the best exhibition the Chengdu Contemporary Image Museum has displayed to-date.
