Qianyuan Mountain is a provincial-level scenic spot, located 19 kilometers west of Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province, on the east bank of Panjiang River. It is within Hanzeng Town, an important industrial and cultural tourism town in Jiangyou City. It is home to mythical stories such as “The Romance of the Gods” and “Nezha”. It is also believed to be the main birthplace of Northwest Taoism.
Itinerary
07:40 Meet at Exit C, Metro Line 2, Baiguolin and the bus will leave at 07:50 on dot.
07:50-11:00 With our pulses racing, we are first loaded into a chartered van for a drive down to Hanzeng Town, Jiangyou City for about 2.5 hours, and then transfer with the local van to the foot of Qianyuan Mountain for about half an hour, getting ready to hike.
Note: Due to the narrow road condition, a transfer with a local van to Mt Qianyuan at your own expense (about 30 RMB/pp) is necessary.
11:00-12:00 Hike for about 1 hour to the Yinguang Cave, passing through stairs, mud road and cliff road.
12:00-13:00 Lunchtime! The temple can provide vegetarian meals at 15 RMB/pp at your own cost (reservation needed). Or you can prepare your own lunchbox as well.
13:00-14:00 Cave exploration! Please bring your flashlight or headlight.
14:00-16:00 Get out of the cave and hike to the Jinguang Cave and visit the Nezha’s tomb (1.5 hours) and then take a local transfer to go downhill.
16:00-19:00 Get back to Chengdu.
