April 16-17: 2022 ChunYou Musical Festival

Chun You is back!

Established in 2013, Chun You is a music-based, experiential, party-style festival held every year on the third weekend of April. Having united bands, DJs, visual artists, performers, and music lovers for the best part of a decade, Chun You is the most essential gathering for independent music in Chengdu.

This 16-17 April 2022, we are sailing east to an exciting new location at Sancha Lake, located about 40km south-east of the city center. Embark on a voyage to Chun You, with four unique music stages running day to night, plus comedy shows at the new Haha Stage, all scattered across the island for you to explore.

The Chun You Stage is the beating heart of the festival. Located in an abandoned swimming pool, featuring both leading and up-and-coming bands from around the country, this year’s mosh pit is not to be missed.

Nestled in a traditional courtyard amidst the trees, the Electronic Stage has got you covered from late-night dancefloor heaters to spaced-out, sunset serenades. Active for 16 hours a day, the siheyuan is the place to up your step count with some of your favourite DJs and producers from around China.

Escape into the psychedelic vibes of the Imagination Stage. Serving ambient, dub, world, audio-visual experimentation and more, this is the spot to get down to the downbeat.

The legacy of Morning Bar lives on at the Morning Stage, mixing different styles and selectors into a cross-genre melting pot of good vibes. Be sure to grab a drink at the bar!

Are you having a laugh! This year, Chun You have teamed up with The Noise过载 to produce an indoor comedy stage, where local Chengdu comedians will perform a daily “Happy Hour” session of both old and new comedy forms.
