China: Uncertified or Recalled Power Banks Banned on Domestic Flights
To ensure flight safety, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice, effective on June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks on domestic flights if they lack a 3C label, have an unclear 3C label, or belong to recalled models or production batches.
The notice emphasizes that airports should establish clearly designated areas for passengers to voluntarily dispose of or temporarily store power banks, with clear defined procedures and processes to facilitate these actions. The aim is to enhance passenger understanding of and compliance with the policy. Additionally, airports must expedite the installation and maintenance of charging facilities within terminals and enhance the availability and accessibility of charging equipment, to better meet the needs of departing and arriving passengers.
3C certification (China Compulsory Certification) is a mandatory market access system implemented by the Chinese government to protect the personal safety of consumers, national security and the environment. According to national regulations, legally power banks on the market must be accredited with 3C compulsory certification.

Use of power banks with a 3C mark is not allowed during flights.While power banks with with 3C certifications are permitted to be brought onboard, they must not be used to charge electronic devices during the flight, and passengers must ensure that power banks with a power switch remain turned off at all times during the flight.
