The 2023 Chengdu World Science Fiction Convention (i.e.2023 Chengdu Worldcon) will be held at the Chengdu Science(Science Fiction) Museum, Pidu District, Chengdu from October 18 to 22, 2023. It marks the World Science Fiction Convention being held in China for the first time, making Chengdu the second Asian city and also the first Chinese one to host the grand Sci-fi event. The 5-day event, themed The Symbiosis Era, will feature a range of activities, including opening and closing ceremonies, Hugo Awards selection, themed exhibitions, themed salons and various meetings.
Additionally, it will offer cultural activities such as the science fiction season and urban tours.
According to the Committee, prominent guests such as Liu Cixin, Robert Sawyer, Richard Leslie Taylor, Glover Lesley R, David Hill, Neil Clarke, Wu Jing, Guo Fan, Wang Jinkang, Han Song, and He Xi will attend the 2023 Chengdu Worldcon. This convention will host over 200 activities, which is unprecedented in terms of the content and quantity of activities compared to other sci-fi events held in China.
