Day 1 to the campground – 50 km downhill
We will leave from Ligong daxue metro on line 7 at exit 2b at 9 am. There will be a decent amount of traffic leaving Chengdu, so it’s better to leave earlier. We will stop for lunch on the way and probably get to the top of Balang mountain around 2 or 3. There will probably be some snow on the top of both so we will probably start a little way down on both mountains.
Everyone will bike about an hour and a half down to the bottom where Dawei xiang is, which is where the turnoff to Jia jin mountain is. We will load up the bikes and go up the mountain a few km to where a nice campground is. We will bbq and set up our tents there next to a store. If it’s raining we will probably stay in a hotel in Dawei Xiang.
Day 2 to Jialacun – 55 km downhill
In the morning we will get up and I’ll take you and bikes up to the top of Jia Jin Mountain where you will begin a long descent. It’s pretty steep for a couple of hours and then it flattens out a bit. We will have lunch at a restaurant along the way. We will pass by a beautiful reservoir and stay in a tiny village Jialacun.
Day 3 to Baoxing – 48 km downhill
We can get up and take our time making the way downhill to Baoxing. In Baoxing there is a museum of the army’s long march and some other things to do in this pleasant town.
Day 4 to Lushan – 41 km flat
We will ride our bike ride towards Lushan where we will have lunch and then head back to Chengdu. I guess we will arrive in the late afternoon.
