• Earlier this year, the city welcomed several new direct international routes: Dubai, Madrid, Paris, Bangkok, Sapporo and Penang.

• Recently, the Civil Aviation Administration of China unveiled new approved international air routes, with its 2025 Q3 international route operating license announcement confirming that Chengdu has gained approval for eight new direct international passenger and cargo services.

Approved New International Direct Routes from Chengdu

1. Passenger and cargo route from Chengdu to Vladivostok, Russia (Chengdu Airlines), three weekly flights
2. Passenger and cargo route from Chengdu to Jeju, the Republic of Korea (Chengdu Airlines), three weekly flights
3. Passenger and cargo route from Chengdu to Brussels, Belgium (Air China), five weekly flights
4. All-cargo route from Chengdu to Zurich, Switzerland (Air China Cargo), four weekly flights
5. All-cargo route from Chengdu to Kolkata, India (IndiGo of India), three weekly flights
6. Passenger and cargo route from Chengdu to Istanbul, Türkiye (Turkish Airlines), four weekly flights 7. Passenger and cargo route from Chengdu to Tashkent, Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan Airways), two weekly flights
8. Passenger route from Chengdu to Auckland, New Zealand (Sichuan Airlines), two weekly round trips
Note: Except for the Auckland route (starting December 7), the specific launch dates for the other approved international air routes mentioned have not been confirmed yet. Nevertheless, airlines are obligated to launch flight services within a specified time frame starting from the date they acquire the business permit. 

Chengdu Connects to the World

Additionally, Singapore Airlines has obtained approval to extend the operation of its direct passenger and cargo route from Chengdu to Singapore, with seven weekly flights operating on this route. 

Up to now, Chengdu runs 82 regular direct international and regional air routes, encompassing 57 passenger routes and 25 cargo routes. These routes link Chengdu to destinations spread across 43 countries around the world. Moving forward, Chengdu will keep expanding its international air route network to provide efficient air connectivity for initiatives such as international economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges.
