In the city where hot pot is king and the streets are scented with a mala tingle we find ourselves sitting down at our favourite hot pot joint weekly. This great Sichuan tradition is delicious – but a warm beer or tepid tea is often the only thing on offer to drink with the meal.
The organisers behind HOTELEX wanted to change this and invite innovative barristers, mixologists and brew-masters to exhibit at The Chengdu Hot Pot Drinks Festival as a part of the wider exhibition.
There will be a competition between all of the exhibitors to decide which drink will cool you down and complement hot pot the best. You can take a look and vote here on WeChat which drink tickles your fancy! Guests at the event will receive vouchers to taste all of the drinks at the competition.
The top 10 most popular drinks will be announced at the end of the competition as the perfect partners for hot pot.
Alongside the drinks competition there will be other events held over the weekend, including master mixologists coming together, baristas and more. It will also be an opportunity for everyone in the beverage industry to display their goods and meet people in the industry.

Alongside the Chengdu Hotpot Drinks festival, that weekend a wider celebration of food and drink is happening at the exhibiton centre operated by HOTELEX.
2017 Chengdu International Hotel Supplies and Food Expo (HOTELEX CHENGDU 2017) will take place on August 11th – 13th in Chengdu Century City International Convention and Exhibition Centre, in number 3-4 pavilion.
The Exhibition area covers over 23,000 square meters, with a total of 280 exhibitors, and will attract more than 20,000 professional visitors, giving exposure to hotels, restaurants, franchise opportunities and bring innovative and exciting goods, products and services to the visitors.
