• Big news for Chengdu dwellers: Line 13 (Phase 1, which runs Southeast-Northwest) and Line 30 (Phase 1, which runs West-East) are set to officially launch in 2025. The two lines will start end of December, and the exact opening date are expected to be announced soon.

• With these new extensions, Chengdu’s metro network now contains more than 750 kilometers, cementing its status as one of China’s longest city-wide rail networks.

Line 13 Phase I

Stretching 29 kilometers, Line 13 Phase 1 runs eastward from Wayaotan Station in the west to Long’an Station, operating as an all-underground line with a top speed of 100 km/h. It features 21 stations in total, including 11 interchange hubs linking to 10 metro lines—existing Lines 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 17, plus upcoming Lines 10 and 30.
Traversing core urban districts such as Qingyang, Wuhou, Jinjiang, and Longquanyi, the line connects key landmarks: cultural attractions like Du Fu Thatched Cottage and Qingyang Taoist Temple, scenic spots including Xingfu Meilin and Sansheng Flower Town, as well as prestigious universities such as Sichuan University (Huaxi Campus) and Sichuan Normal University (Shizishan Campus). Once in initial operation, it will streamline travel across multiple high-demand areas.

Line 30 Phase I

Spanning approximately 28 kilometers, Line 30 Phase 1 extends eastward from East of Terminal 2 of Shuangliu International Airport Station in the west to Longquan Station, covering Shuangliu District, Chengdu Hi-tech Zone, Jinjiang District, and Longquanyi District.
All 24 stations along the line are underground, forming an important east-west transportation corridor for the city. Upon official launch, it will greatly shorten travel times between Longquanyi District, Chengdu Hi-tech Zone, and Shuangliu District. With seamless interchange access to Lines 2, 5, 6, 8, 13, and 19, the line will further enhance the convenience of residents’ daily commutes and inter-district travel.
