In China’s startup city, it’s no surprise that co-working caught on so rapidly from 2016 when we saw the beginning of a mass move away from serviced offices or rented cubicles in the city. The stand-out spaces so far are Walnut, The Salmonist and Work+, although 2018 will see big global brands like WeWork come to the city.
Whilst co-working is becoming more popular in theory, many of these spaces still are mostly made of enclosed cubicles, instead of Western style open co-working – so the culture of true collaborative co-working still needs some time to develop.
Walnut now has several micro spaces and well as large offices and is well run, The Salmonist space is well kept and are a great environment to concentrate – and Work+ are lively and have helpful staff.

Salmonist is a coworking community that is specifically designed for micro-enterprises, startups, freelancers, and remote workers. Their both spaces are the best kept in town – clean, well managed and quiet, for people that like high productivity. Because of their cooperation with Let’s Grind, they got good coffee too.
Two floor co-working space at China Air tower opened in 2016 with individual offices, dedicated and flex desks.

Founded in 2015, Walnut联合办公 was the first co-working brand to settle in Chengdu.
