🇵🇱 Polish Consulate Chengdu Closure: What You Need to Know

Sad news for the international community in Southwest China: the Polish Consulate Chengdu closure is now official. As of March 31, 2025, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland has permanently closed its doors.

This is part of a growing trend. In recent years, global relations have shifted. Consequently, several foreign consulates in Chengdu have shut down. For example, the US Consulate famously closing it’s doors in 2020. These closures reflect changing diplomatic priorities and regional strategies.

🔒 Closure Information

On March 31, the Polish Consulate in Chengdu officially ended operations. The government confirmed this in a public Notice of Closure.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chengdu is permanently closed.

From now on, all consular services, including visas, passports, and legal matters, will be transferred to the jurisdiction of the Polish Consulate in Guangzhou and will be handled by the Consulate General of Poland in Guangzhou.
