The 19th Coolest Neighbourhood in the World
Chengdu’s Tangba Jie 镋钯街 was recently named No.19 in TimeOut’s list of the 50 coolest neighbourhoods in the world to visit in 2018. The area provides some sweet relief from commercial Taikoo Li, with a sizzling selection of street food and alleyways to explore. It’s also home to foreigner favourites Lotus, Good Good, Let’s Grind, Le Coq Au Vin and more.

Marking the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up policies, the 17th WCIF focused on promoting the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The guest country of honor this year was Italy, and the event was attended by the Italian Deputy Prime Minister – which is why there were a fair few closes roads and lots of police action for a week.
