Read to Feed is a reading incentive, service-learning program that offers global education opportunities and fosters in children a love for reading, a passion to help others, and a motivation to help create a better world. Students at Léman International School Chengdu in grades SK to 5 were sponsored for each book they read or the hours they read. The funds were then collected and donated to Heifer International to help assist families in the Sichuan Province to feed their families and become self-reliant. Through the hard effort of our students and the generous donations from their sponsors Léman raised over 19,000 RMB, an outstanding effort. Additionally, members of the Girl Scouts who attend our school ran a ‘bake sale’ at a recent swim meet at Léman and raised an additional 2500 RMB.
